WPA transcriptions and translations of Los Angeles city archives records, 1825-1850.

The collection consists of typescript carbon copies of federal Works Progress Administration project C-6975, transcribing and translating registers of Spanish-language legal documents from Los Angeles under the rule of Mexico. The WPA project was carried out from 1937 through 1938. The collection's run of transcriptions and translations is incomplete. Volumes of transcriptions have a companion volume of translations, except for volume 1, which contains only translations of original documents.
